Why do I use Investment instead of "price" or "fees?"

Dragonfly Therapy Services' hourly rate is 160.00.​
This rate is in accordance with ACSLPA and the Alberta Speech-Language Association of Private Practitioners.
Dragonfly Therapy Services offers investment options for in person therapy as follows:

60 minutes - 160.00
(50 minutes direct & 10 minutes for documentation)
​
40 minutes - 130.00
(30 minutes direct & 10 minutes for documentation)
​
30 minutes - 105.00
(20 minutes direct & 10 minutes for documentation)
​

Virtual services require substantially more pre and
post session preparation and are offered as:
​
50 minutes - 140.00
(10 minutes pre, 30 minutes direct & 10 minutes post)
Dragonfly Therapy Services offers flexible scheduling for both in person and virtual therapy
​
Monday to Thursday - 9:00 am to 8:00 pm​
Weekends may be available in special circumstances

Dragonfly Therapy Services provides services in the environment that is most comfortable for you and your child -
Your home, a community location, my speech and language clinic or via virtual platform
​
Off site visits require at least 60 minutes to be effective.
With the exception of using a sound test to identify sound error patterns, standardized assessments are not routinely done
at Dragonfly Therapy Services.
​
Everything needed to develop goals is gathered during the initial
meeting and through observation.
​
COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT & REPORT
for EDUCATION OR OUTSIDE REFERRAL

A comprehensive assessment employs standardized tools and is generally necessary solely for funding purposes.
It is NOT a requirement to begin services with Dragonfly Therapy Services.
​
A comprehensive assessment includes a discussion of the results, an overview of your potential options, contact information for other service providers if needed, and a written report to appropriate referral agencies or a report written to the standards required by Alberta Education.
​
​Standardized assessments CANNOT be completed virtually
Insurance Coverage
Dragonfly Therapy Services can direct bill to Alberta Blue Cross, Medavie Blue Cross,
Canada Life and Simply Benefits.
​
Most extended health plans provide some allowance for S-LP services but it is recommended that you check with your insurance provider before hiring a private practitioner.
​
Private speech therapy is also considered a tax-deductible medical expense by the Canada Revenue Agency.
​
A receipt for all services rendered will be provided.
​
